So Far, So Good!

In the past few days the schedule of campaign events has heated up dramatically. I have had the pleasure of addressing the City Democratic Committee rally, an interesting mix of people at our “Coffee with the Candidate” (thanks Nicole for the great muffins!) and today Robin, Ethan, Freckles and I marched in the Fall Foliage Parade. Also, I recorded a brief interview with Eric Buddington for his local access TV show and have two more media events in the next few days. On Wednesday there will be a candidate forum at the VFW. No rest for the weary.

As they say, full speed ahead!

On your Mark… Get Set…

The most critical election in North Adams in many years is just two months away and it is time to start sprinting for the finish line. Please click on the “Volunteer” tab and fill out the form if you would like to help in any way, shape or form.

In the next 60 days it is my goal to meet several thousand of my neighbors, but knocking on doors and standing on street corners is not enough to convince the electorate that I am worth voting for. That is where you come in. A quick introduction to your neighbors, friends, co-workers is worth a thousand words. A lawn sign in your yard lets people know that maybe I am worth checking out. A link on your Facebook page adds legitimacy to our efforts.

Whether it is your weekly poker buddies, knitting circle, professional group, gallery opening, etc… I’d love to come say hello and share my thoughts on the greatest little city in New England.

This I Believe

Families, of all shapes and sizes, make up the core of communities. Strong families provide the stable base socially and economically that cities need to thrive.
Respect and Kindness are the two most important values in my life. Even in the toughest and most unpleasant of situations, both these values should be relied upon to guide decisions.
Education should be the great equalizer in society. Giving every citizen, child and adult alike, the opportunity to expand their horizons is what makes our country great. Sadly, the education playing field is not always level. This must be vigilantly watched and constantly addressed at all levels.
Communities take care of their own. Whether this means helping a neighbor lift something heavy, donating to the local food pantry, or anything in between, the bonds developed by helping each other are stronger than any political system. This is especially true for business, as well.
Carpe diem! Life is what you make it. Whether you sit back and enjoy the ride or grab the bull by the horns, the choice is yours. Always remember that one person can make a difference.
